BOVITRA TECHNOLOGIES

Privacy Policy

Bovitra · Last updated: October 5, 2026.

Scope

This policy describes how Bovitra Technologies processes information to provide Bovitra’s livestock management features. Some features and services may vary depending on the platform, the version and the options the user chooses. The iCloud sync section describes the integration in version 1.1 for iOS and iPadOS; earlier versions may use different services.

Information used

Depending on the features used, Bovitra may process account data, such as email address and user ID, financial information related to the ranch operation, precise location, photos or videos, and content entered by the user. This content may include information about ranches and animals, livestock identifiers, weights, pastures and their geographic boundaries, boundary history, livestock movements, grazing, infrastructure, notes, crops, tools, inventory, animal health and reproduction, production, staff and records related to drone flights, as well as reports and backups linked to those records.

Purpose

The information is used to authenticate the user, provide the requested features, keep records and allow them to be viewed, exported, backed up and synced across devices where applicable.

Bovitra account and Firebase Authentication

Bovitra uses Firebase Authentication to manage account access. Depending on the sign-in method, Firebase may process the email address, the account identifier and the technical data needed to authenticate the account and protect the service. The chosen sign-in provider, such as Apple or Google, also processes information under its own privacy practices.

In the version 1.1 integration for iOS and iPadOS, ranch records are synced with CloudKit. Firebase Authentication still manages the sign-in account; that function is separate from the storage of ranch records.

Some Bovitra features or versions may use Cloud Firestore or Firebase Storage. These services are independent of iCloud sync and of the optional Android backup to Google Drive. Switching storage systems does not automatically delete copies that have already been created. Google processes Firebase information under its terms and privacy documentation. More information: Firebase privacy.

Local storage, iCloud and CloudKit

Bovitra keeps records locally on the device. The version 1.1 integration for iOS and iPadOS uses a private CloudKit database to sync the account’s records and the available files associated with them, such as photos and backups. This data is associated with the user’s iCloud account and is also subject to Apple’s privacy practices. The Bovitra account identifier is used to keep the account’s records separate within this integration.

To view synced information on another iPhone or iPad, the same Bovitra account and the same iCloud account must be used. Sync requires an Internet connection, an available iCloud account and enough iCloud storage. It can run while the app is in use and resume when the app is reopened if iOS suspends it. Information that has not yet been synced may be available only on the device where it was entered. The status can be checked in More → Sync.

Copies exported by the user are saved or shared to the destination the user chooses. A temporary report that is no longer available on the device and has no confirmed cloud copy cannot be recovered through sync.

Local storage and backups on Android

On Android, Bovitra records are kept locally in an app database. If the user connects Google Drive and enables backups, Bovitra creates and uploads copies to the app data space of that Google account (appDataFolder). The backup contains Bovitra records and the animal and drone flight photos that the app stores in its private storage. It does not include the phone’s entire gallery or temporary files, such as report PDFs generated for viewing or export.

With backups enabled, Bovitra schedules automatic copies approximately every six hours when there is an Internet connection; it may also start a copy when the feature is enabled. Google Drive copies are linked to the connected Google account and are also governed by Google’s privacy practices. More information: Google Privacy.

Backup files are transferred over HTTPS, but Bovitra does not add end-to-end encryption or its own password to the file before uploading or exporting it.

Account backup on iOS and iPadOS

From More → Download backup, the user can generate a .zip file with the account’s records and the available attachments, including photos. If the app cannot read a record, it skips it and reports that the backup is partial. The file is saved or shared to the destination the user chooses and can be restored to any Bovitra account from More → Restore backup; restoring it twice does not duplicate the information.

The file is not encrypted or password-protected and may contain personal information, such as staff data and financial records, so the user is responsible for keeping it in a safe place.

Device permissions

Features that require location, camera or photo access depend on the corresponding device permissions. Location may be used to place the ranch or infrastructure, to record pasture boundaries via GPS and to show the ranch weather through Apple WeatherKit, which receives the ranch coordinates. The user can manage these permissions in iOS, iPadOS or Android settings; restricting them may limit the related features.

Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions on iOS and iPadOS are processed through Apple’s purchase system. Bovitra does not directly receive or store the full details of the card used for an App Store purchase.

Tracking and advertising

Bovitra does not use app data to track the user across other companies’ apps or websites or for third-party advertising.

Retention, control and deletion

Information is kept as long as needed to provide the app’s features and according to the storage options used. The user can manage the information through the features available in Bovitra and the corresponding iCloud or Google Drive controls.

In version 1.1 for iOS and iPadOS, when the account is deleted from More → Delete account, Bovitra deletes that account’s records in CloudKit (iCloud), Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage; it then deletes the Firebase Authentication account and, finally, deletes that account’s records stored on the device. If iCloud is not available on that device, the app says so and the user can delete that data from Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Bovitra. This action does not delete backups the user has exported or Google Drive copies created from Android.

Creating a new account generates a different identifier, so data from a deleted account cannot be recovered from the cloud. To keep it, the user can download a backup first and restore it later to a new account.

To request help with accessing, correcting, exporting or deleting information, write to support@bovitratechnologies.com. Requests will be handled taking into account identity verification and the controls available in each service. Deleting private iCloud data or Google Drive copies may require action by the account holder or assistance from Bovitra.

Security

Bovitra applies access controls in its services and uses the protections provided by iOS, Android, Apple, Google and Firebase. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

Changes

This policy may be updated when Bovitra’s features, its data processing practices or the applicable requirements change. The date of the last update will appear at the top of the published page.
